The first production automobile from Honda was the T360 mini pick-up truck.. Powered by a small 356 cc straight-4 gasoline engine, it was classified under the cheaper Kei car tax bracket. The first production car from Honda was the S500 sports car. Its chain driven rear wheels point to Honda's motorcycle origins Honda's global lineup consists of the Fit, Civic, Accord, Insight, CR-V, Odyssey and S2000. An early proponent of developing vehicles to cater to different needs and markets worldwide, Honda's lineup varies by country and may feature vehicles exclusive to that region. A few examples are the latest Acura TL luxury sedan and the Ridgeline, Honda's first light-duty pickup truck. Both were engineered primarily in North America and are exclusively produced and sold there.

Used Honda Civic

The Honda Civic, first launch in 1973, has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Used Civics offer a consistently high level of fit and finish and have an impressive reputation for reliability and low running costs. Excellent fuel economy and high gas prices have made the Honda Civic a top choice for many Americans.

Honda's VTEC technology first appeared in the fifth-generation Civic, which was sold from 1992-'95. The sixth-generation Civic, sold from 1996-2000 was in many ways a refinement of the style and technology found on the previous generation. Coupe, sedan and hatchback body styles were available. Sedans were offered in DX, LX and EX trim levels. Engine choices were a 1.6-liter good for 106 hp in the DX and LX or 127 hp in the VTEC-equipped EX. There was also a higher-fuel-economy coupe, the 115-hp HX. The seventh-generation Honda Civic was sold from 2001-'05. There were coupe and sedan body styles as well as a two-door hatchback. The hatchback came only in the Si trim. The eighth generation of the Civic was first introduced for the 2006 model year. All current body styles and trim combinations were available that year, except for the Si sedan, which debuted for '07. The following year saw a limited-edition Mugen Si model and the addition of a leather upholstery option. For '09, the LX-S and DX Value Package trims debuted along with a minor exterior refresh.

Honda Accord Used

The Honda Accord has, for every year in its production, offered to American drivers exactly what they want out of their daily transportation. The Accord is comfortable, roomy, intelligently engineered and easy to drive. Furthermore it is backed by a solid reputation for reliability, a strong resale value and an emphasis on safety. The used Accord may not be as sporty or feature filled than some in its class, but people are drawn to the Accord for its family-oriented sedan or coupe to cover. Consumers looking for a used Honda Accord may be interested that the Accord was most recently redesigned for the 2008 model year. In that initial year, Honda rated the optional V6 at a slightly lower (268 hp) output. Only minimal changes have occurred since.

Another popular Accord model is the vehicle's seventh generation, which was sold for the 2003-'07 model years. It was available as a midsize coupe or sedan. Selecting a used Accord from this generation should be rather straightforward.  The most significant changes of this generation occurred in 2006 when the Accord received freshened exterior styling and more power for both engines. Consumers interested in a Honda Accord but limited to a smaller budget could also check out the fourth-generation Accord, which was available starting in 1990. As there is little price difference between these cars at this point, 1992 or '93 EX or SE models are probably your best choices.

Used Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot has become a favorite among consumers looking for SUV capability along with better fuel efficiency and handling. The used Pilot offers decent V6 power, above-average fuel economy, easy maneuverability, plenty of interior comfort and versatility, and seven-to-eight-passenger seating; it was exactly the kind of vehicle that families leery of the minivan stigma were looking for. The current second-generation Honda Pilot debuted for the 2009 model year, offering used car shoppers an opportunity to have the most up to date features and technology.

The first-generation Pilot was introduced for the 2003 model year, making this Honda one of the first midsize crossover SUVs available with a third-row seat. A 240-hp 3.5-liter V6, matched to a five-speed automatic transmission, was always the only available power source. From 2003-'05, all Pilots sold were all-wheel drive; a front-drive version was offered alongside AWD after that.  In 2006, some minor changes were made to the Honda Pilot's exterior design. Used Honda Pilots offer good handling and a smooth ride for a midsize SUV.  Cargo capacity is sufficient to handle what most families required.

Preowned Honda Odyssey

The Honda Odyssey competes in the very competitive minivan market. Despite this, the used Odyssey has been a favorite over the years.   There are other minivans that rival the Odyssey's family-friendly features, but the Honda combines those attributes with confident driving dynamics and a long-standing record of reliability, making it an all-around family favorite. Odyssey offers best-in-class performance, with its powerful V6 and a capable all-independent suspension. It also offers a large cabin, available power-sliding doors and that slick hide-away third-row seat. Throughout its six-year run, Honda's second-generation Odyssey was quite simply the one to get.

The first-generation Honda Odyssey debuted in 1995. Instead of sliding doors on the sides, the Odyssey had four conventional swing-open doors with roll-down windows. Consumers looking for a true minivan may be interested in the second-generation Odyssey, which was available from 1999-2004. This Odyssey boasted dual sliding rear doors in place of the first-generation's swinging doors and it was considerably larger overall, but it retained the original model's trick fold-flat third-row seat. The third generation Honda Odyssey debuted for the 2005 model year. There have been only minor changes since, with 2008 bringing minor exterior styling updates and new conveni.ence features, and 2009 seeing a standard power liftgate debut for the EX-L as well as integrated Bluetooth for the optional navigation system.

Used Honda CR-V

The original Honda CR-V debuted in the late 1990s as an alternative to more mainstream mid- and full-size large SUVs. The CR-V gets the approval of many used ar shoppers for its car-based design, four-cylinder engine and sedanlike ride and handling. It is a very affordable vehicle with plenty of passenger room and cargo capacity for most people's needs.  Over the years the Honda CR-V remains focused on its carlike aspirations. True to form, it is one of the best choices available in the all-important areas of on-road drivability and practicality. The current CR-V is part of the model's third generation, which dates back to 2007.

The second-generation CR-V was produced from 2002-'06 and boasted a number of improvements compared to the original CR-V, including more power, more interior room and improved passenger protection. Power came from a 2.4-liter four cylinder rated at 160 hp, though this number dropped to 156 hp in 2006 due to a revised rating procedure.
