2017 Honda Accord Hybrid

The 2017 Chicago Auto Show was held from February 11 through February 20, and hosted several eye-catching displays from top manufacturers. Among those displays were the latest and upcoming additions to the new Honda lineup. Airport Marina Honda in Los Angeles has the details on some of the highpoints of Honda’s involvement, as well as more on what you can expect as a Honda enthusiast!

Production Vehicles

At the show, Honda officially introduced its 2017 lineup. The Accord and Civic dazzled with their value-packed trims, while the Fit boasted an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city/40 mpg highway rating*. The CR-V and HR-V Crossovers stole the limelight with Honda Sensing on turbo trims and a standard 60/40-split second row with Magic Seat, respectively. The Pilot distinguished itself as the CR-V and HR-V Crossovers’ bigger sibling with its massive cargo area and peak towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. Finally, the Ridgeline Pickup stepped up to the plate with a strong V6 engine, a dual-action tailgate, and an in-bed trunk.

2018 Honda Odyssey Debut

In addition to its 2017 production vehicles, Honda debuted to the upcoming 2018 Honda Odyssey Minivan. Slated for arrival this spring, the 2018 Odyssey promises a variety of exciting options, including tri-zone climate control, a built-in vacuum, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated and cooled fronts, a blind spot monitor, and much, much more. Santa Monica families should be happy to hear that the dimensions and cargo capacities of the current model will carry over into the 2018 model year, as well as the powerful 280-hp V6 engine.

Project 2&4 Concept

Honda’s display also featured the head-turning Project 2&4 Concept—a four-wheel, ultra-sporty cross between a car and motorcycle. Equipped with a single seat, a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a 999-cc engine, it dishes out 212 hp and 87 lb-ft of torque. Although it’s unlikely you’ll see Project 2&4 zipping down Los Angeles streets anytime soon, its designer, Martin Petersson, told Top Gear, “There will be a next step. It’s been too positive for us to go and complete this project in a basement somewhere. The question is what that next step is.”
