Honda Maintenance Codes 

As you drive your Honda vehicle through Inglewood, you may see some Honda maintenance codes pop up on your dashboard every so often. Don’t be alarmed, all this indicates is that your Honda vehicle is in need of service. Primary Honda Maintenance Codes

For most Honda vehicles, the service codes will be either the letter “A” or “B” followed by the numbers 1-6: 

Honda A

  • Replace the engine oil and the oil filter. 

Honda B

  • Replace the engine oil and the oil filter. 
  • Lubricate and clean the front and rear brakes.
  • Adjust the parking brake. 
  • Inspect the major vehicle components. 

Secondary Honda Maintenance Codes

Now that you know what the two primary letters mean, what does it mean when the Honda B1 Service code and the Honda A1 Service codes show up? Take a look at what the different numbers indicate:

0  

  • Perform a multi-point vehicle inspection. 

  • Perform a tire rotation. 

  • Replace the cabin and engine air filters. 

  • Replace the transmission fluid.

Maintenance Minder Codes on a Honda

On newer Honda models, you’ll find a maintenance feature called the Maintenance Minder. This is to show you how much oil you have in your vehicle. Here is what the percentages mean:

 

15%: Service is required soon, and you should set up an appointment. 

5%: Service is necessary. Bring in your vehicle as soon as possible. 

0%: Service is past due. Bring in your vehicle for immediate service.
